De Divine Proportione est la toute premi�re �dition imprim�e d’œuvres picturales de L�onard de Vinci. L’int�gralit� du texte a �t� r�dig�e par le moine franciscain et math�maticien italien Luca Pacioli (1445-1517), son ami de nombreuses ann�es. L’objectif de Pacioli et de de Vinci, en faisant publier ce trait�, �tait de d�crire le monde selon les termes de ses �l�ments g�om�triques communs, c’est-�-dire la Divine proportion, �galement appel�e Nombre d’or. M�me la mise en page, que l’on peut juger aujourd’hui curieuse, Pacioli et de Vinci l’ont �tablie selon un trac� g�om�trique respectant scrupuleusement la divine proportion. Mais ils n’ont fait que r�diger un trait� parlant d’une proportion qui rendrait toute chose harmonieuse, qui avait pr�c�demment �t� d�crite par Platon, Euclide et Vitruve.

On ignore combien d’exemplaires de De Divina Proportione furent imprim�s � Venise. Le premier des deux seuls exemplaires connus aujourd’hui est � la Biblioteca Ambrosiana de Milan. Le second est conserv� � la Biblioth�que publique et universitaire de Gen�ve. Cependant, d’autres �ditions, dont de nombreuses traductions, furent imprim�es � partir des ann�es 1520. Mais aucune de ces derni�res ne fut jamais aussi belle que l’original.
De Divina Proportione est aujourd’hui consid�r� par les sp�cialistes de la Renaissance comme la th�orie de la crois�e entre les sciences et l’art de cette p�riode, avec l’engagement actif de son plus grand g�nie, L�onard de Vinci.

Le format original de ses pages est 29,25 cm par 19,25, c’est-�-dire l�g�rement plus grand que la taille pr�sent�e dans cette �dition.

Design concepts & terminology bargain

I purchased a "like new" copy of this book for cheap. I've been volunteering for Habitat, and this text introduces the terminology that describes many of the new (to me) architectural concepts that I've confronted in our new construction, and illustrates alternative designs that may be used in more formidable projects. This book predates the newer 10th edition (revised for ADA), which is required material at our community college for an architecture course. I'm an experienced 2D CAD draftsman, and the numerous elaborate drawings in the book are of huge benefit. This text represents a wealth of knowledge for a residential neo-builder like me. An absolute bargain in the used book marketplace.

This is by far my favorite Islamic book, one that I've now read several times and love gifting to other Muslims who may be seeking a deeper connection with their religion. It is exactly what it says it is - a book about spiritual and self-development, and it tells you how to develop yourself and your connection with God in a very easy to understand, almost step-by-step manner. That isn't to say it's elementary, just that the tips it offers aren't too conceptual, and are very easy to implement into daily life.

This book discusses Practical Faith - Incorporating faith and spirituality into every aspect of one's life. I must admit, it is reminiscent of 'The Secret', but far better and more rooted in the true purpose of life. It is unfortunate that the book is not available on Amazon, though it can be easily found in an online Islamic bookstore. Just google the title and author.

Really liked this book

I rented this book from Amazon for a college class in Small Group Communication. First, the Amazon rental program is AMAZING!!! Secondly, I really enjoyed this book. I have been a full time project manager in a large corporation for approximately 8 years. This book really gave insight to the small group dynamics and how they affect communication. I have to return this copy but will be purchasing my own as part of my personal library.
